The village of Hopkins is home to many Garinagu people who migrated to this paradise in the hopes of escaping persecution.  When they settled here in Hopkins, they brought with them, the traditions, culture, music, religion, and food of their Arowak and Kalingo ancestors.

Hopkins is located a short ride from the world’s only Jaguar reserve, stunning waterfalls, a zipline track and stunning aqua life for world class diving, snorkelling and fishing but mostly  it is known for some of the most beautiful beaches in Belize and the friendly and laid back atmosphere.
